Collectors of Royal Doulton all over the world are familiar with the work of Margaret May 'Peggy' Davis. To celebrate and recognize the 50th anniversary of Peggy's amazing contribution, a collection of six recently discovered and previously unreleased figures by her is introduced. Peggy created beautiful figures for the Royal Doulton HN Collection and they are treasured and admired by her legion of fans the world over.

The simple figures of the Sentiments range are thoughtful and eloquent gifts. Famous personalities are brought to life as Character Figures, while our sensitive portrayals of children evoke the poignant moments of childhood. The Prestige Figures are dramatic masterpieces of the potter's art, and Royal Doulton's Limited Editions are especially sought after by knowledgeable collectors, and once sold out can command impressive prices on the secondary market.

Yet, for all the diversity, a common thread binds these many subjects together. These figures are all unmistakably Royal Doulton. Each one has a style and class that simply cannot be imitated.

Royal Doulton's Prestige Figures represent the pinnacle of achievement for our craftsmen and artists. Made only to individual order, they may take a number of months to complete including several weeks on the decoration alone. For the connoisseur also, a Prestige Figure is the ultimate Royal Doulton masterpiece.

Harlequin and Columbine

All the exuberance of Commedia dell'Arte can be seen in these two wonderful characters who epitomize the distinctive form of theatre which was so popular in 16th and 17th century Europe. Harlequin, with his diamond-patch suit, ruffle collar and jaunty hat, is every inch the incorrigible jester. Columbine is likewise at centre stage with her swirling skirts and pretty floral bodice.
